Independent Financial Adviser

Phil provides a completely independent financial advice service, often but not exclusively dealing with matters of:

  • financial protection, including life assurance, critical illness cover and income protection;
  • investments and savings of all kinds, whether orientated towards income, capital growth, or both;
  • pensions, from accumulating pension savings cost-effectively to managing the withdrawal of funds in retirement in the most tax-efficient way;
  • corporate risk management, to ensure the continuity of businesses in the event of the loss of key personnel, and the provision of contingency funds to allow for the purchase of shares in the event of retirement or death.

Approximately half of Phil’s clients are in Cornwall, and the rest are spread over the country, as far east as London and as far north as Yorkshire on one side of the Pennines, and Cheshire on the other.

From a background in the electronics, pharmaceutical and food industries, Phil has broad and deep experience of utilising statistical and numerical techniques to analyse options and design solutions for his clients. These underpin his approach to managing investments.

Phil holds a BSC(Econ) Honours degree from the University of Wales; a Diploma in European Management Studies from Teesside Polytechnic and L’École Supérieure de Commerce de Lyon (ESCL); and a Diploma in Financial Planning. He is a member of the Personal Finance Society and of the Chartered Management Institute. Phil holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

He has a keen interest in decision analysis techniques, statistics, probability theory, and process simulation; and in their application to the management of investments.
